NOT THE HEART SURVIVOR YOU EXPECT
Most people would not look at me and guess I have a heart condition. That at 39, I would need a pacemaker / defibrillator, and my heart function was 25%. It was then, I learned how different women are in relation to men heart health.
Did you know a woman is more likely to die then a man when having a heart attack? That our symptoms are different and that we are more frequently miss-diagnosed?
Only a few years before my condition, the American Heart Association started the Go Red for Women campaign. If it were not for this awareness I truly believe my condition would not have been caught and I would have possibly needed a heart transplant or would not be here at all.
Please join me in supporting this wonderful cause and let's raise awareness by having a conversation with all the women in our lives.
Feb 1st is Go red day!! Break out your best red. If you would like to support this cause - you can make a donation on this page. This donation goes to Long Island, so you are making a difference in you community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
