This is my 4th year on the LI Committee for the Annual American
Heart Association Go Red for Women luncheon, which is taking place February 11,
2016 at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Long Island. Each year the luncheon is
attended by more than 1,000 people and focuses on the importance of women’s
health with keynote speakers that have survived this disease.
Go Red For Women is a national organization promoted by the American
Heart Association.
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S., and Go Red
is able to bring awareness of heart disease to millions of women every year.
In June 2008, my grandmother that I was very close with passed
away of congestive heart failure about 2 months after heart surgery. This
was the first known experience of heart disease in our family. I joined the Go
Red Committee in honor of my grandma to bring awareness of heart disease
to women.
Please join me in bringing awareness of this disease – your support
is greatly appreciated.
